I believe that in life there is no greater test of the human spirit than beginning a story without knowing how its going to end. And a great adventure is always just that. - A.J. Leon
Hey there! I'm Jake and I moved to Chicago in 2012. I grew up in a small town in Michigan dreaming of a city life. After spending 4 years in Nashville, I returned to the Midwest where I found a true home in Chicago.
A few years ago I was in-between jobs and used that free-time to take a last-minute solo trip to New York City. I stayed in a backpacker's hostel with all types of people from different parts the world. It was that moment that the travel bug bit me, and since then, I've seen many different parts of the world and started opening my doors to host travelers here in Chicago.
As an avid backpacker, I find myself asking the same questions every time I plan a trip - what should I do there? how do I get around? where are the "cool" places? - pretty basic stuff, really. This website serves as an information hub for people like me who are seeking adventure in an unfamiliar place.
I'm not a Chicago expert, and I don't have a degree in tourism. I've only scratched the surface of what this amazing city has to offer, but I hope this site can be a resource for visitors and newcomers, and provide some inspiration to get the most out of their time in here.
Welcome to Chicago!
